I am pleased the Sox won Game 1. It is entirely possible we shouldn’t have, but we did. Manny is lucky he didn’t snap his leg off at the knee when his cleat caught, but the important thing is that we’re 1/4th of the way done.
Now that baseball is taken care of, I should direct you to some intarweb excellence. The Independant Report is (or actually, is not responsible for Wolfpacks For Truth, a humorous and poignant response to the ‘Wolves’ ad. Along with delicious artwork, Alas, A Blog is something of a running commentary of the political climate in Oregon, where an Anti Same-Sex Marriage amendment is on the ballot in this election. His writing is good and his stories are engaging, with titles like “Homophobes stole our mailbox” and subject matter like a Yale psychiatrist being used as weaponry by conservatives.
Now we are into single digits - 9 days until the General Election. Many bloggers and pundits are saying that now we are in the red zone, that this is crunch time, and in a way it is - but our tireless nights won’t truly start until November 2nd, and who knows when they will end.

I like how Lehman speaks as if an invasion of Pakistan would be like Vietnam, considering the fact that Iraq is like Vietnam but with a lot less jungle. The fact that Pakistan has nukes and is easily aggravated certainly couldn’t be the reason.
Also, get ready for the invasion of Fallujah for reals. I talked about this last month and I’ve thought about it often since then. You should be outraged that military actions are largely being administrated as a political tool.
